What is the treatment process?

Medabrim BeYahad’s treatment model is comprised of 12 sessions, including 6 parent counseling sessions and 6 dyadic (parent-child) sessions.

The treatment model was developed by Medabrim BeYahad together with therapists and researchers who specialize in childhood trauma in Israel and around the world. The protocol is based on the Child-Parent-Psychotherapy treatment model for childhood trauma, as well as the attachment focused treatment model developed by Dan Hughes that emphasizes the central role of emotion in trauma therapy and in preventing and minimizing post-traumatic stress symptoms.

Medabrim BeYahad’s treatment protocol is implemented in conjunction with research at the Reichman University that assesses the treatment’s effectiveness and promotes policies for short-term effective trauma treatment for children and preschoolers, as necessary.

Medabrim BeYahad’s therapeutic team includes experienced psychologists, social workers, and art and expressive therapists who are certified by the Ministry of Health and trained to provide trauma care to children. Beyond their generalized training and experience in the field, therapists participate in specialized training conducted by a professional team that was trained by Hebrew University’s Haruv Institute to conduct trauma treatment professional workshops for therapists. Beyond this, Medabrim BeYahad provides additional mentoring and professional support for its therapists.
